Description

This is an in-depth, cover-to-blurb evaluation of your book.  This should be done before you click ‘publish’ as a final look, OR as a query for your own info. To answer questions like, Why is my book not selling? Could it be the story has plot holes? Does my cover pull people in? Does my cover say romance, and my blurb says murder mystery? Does my blurb sound ho-hum, or could I make it better? We dig in deep and look for EVERYTHING and ANYTHING you might have missed or overlooked. We’ll let you know all the nitty gritty details and how you can improve, and what you did an absolutely great job with. Did your cover hook us? Did your blurb reel us in? Did your story sink deep inside us and tear us up? We give you it all and then some. We have a team of people willing to work with you to make your story the best it can be.

As the author, you will receive two “reviews”. One will be the review you need: the critique, so you can get an honest look at your work.  The other will be the one the reader sees. It will look like any other review (Only posted by us with your approval). The reviewer’s opinion is just that. An opinion. Also, each review given will be posted to every available website, excluding Amazon. Amazon’s T.O.S. states clearly that you may pay for reviews if they are an editorial review, which ours are. However, you, the author, must post them to Amazon as such. We, as the reviewers, are NOT allowed to post them.  We strive to help you, the author, in every way possible, so often times, the review will be posted here on MJBooks, Goodreads, Bookbub, Barnes Noble, and the reviewer’s personal social media pages. That’s a whole lot of reviews for one read-through.

If the book cannot receive a 3-star rating or above overall, we will explain why and will not post it unless requested by you. We believe that low-star reviews can help the author grow, but may also deter future readers.

We do not pay our reviewers. The reviews given are their opinion and are not in any way coerced or forced. They have complete freedom to judge the book as they see fit, including but not limited to giving it a rating of DNF (Did Not Finish).  Our reviews provide a fair and honest assessment of your work, aimed at helping you improve.
